The coffee plant (Coffea arabica) is the most famous representative of its genus: About three-quarters of the world's coffee harvest consists of the fruits of this species or one of its varieties. Surely, each of us has seen the label "100 percent Arabica" on the packaging of our coffee at some point.
The coffee shrub bears graceful small white star flowers from approximately April to May, forming clusters in the leaf axils. They emit a pleasant fragrance.
